MSA Performance Opportunity: Celebration Recital 2023

Hello Everyone,

The Manitoba Strings Academy is organizing an end-of-year recital to give string students an opportunity to perform in front of families and friends to celebrate the progress that they have made during the year.

Location: St. Andrews United Church, 255 Oak St. Winnipeg

Day/Time:

• Friday May 12, 5pm-9pm
• Saturday May 13, 2022, 9am-12pm and 5pm-9pm

Each Recital session will be 90 minutes. The exact dates & times of the 90-minute sessions will be dependent on how many applicants there are.

On the Online Registration Form, families will be asked for two Date/Time slots that they would prefer (not guaranteed). When all registrations have been received, families will be notified of the performer's confirmed 90-minute Recital session.

Performers

All ages and abilities are welcome. Performers are welcome to play solo or chamber repertoire of their choice for up to 10, 20, or 30 minutes.

Performers are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes before the beginning of their recital slot and to stay until the end of their Recital session. Warm up rooms will be available.

Pianists

Students are responsible for arranging for a pianist to rehearse and perform with them (including all fees). Please ensure the pianist is available to play the day of the recital.

Audience

Family and friends of the performer are welcome to join in watching the performance. Audience members are encouraged to arrive at the beginning of their 90-minute Recital Session and stay until the end of that session.

Recording

Family and friends may record the performance with their own devices if they have the permission of the performer.

MSA will have professional recording equipment set up for the duration of the recital. If you would like your performance recorded (regardless of length), add an additional fee of $25.

Performances will be recorded in one take with no opportunity for retakes. Recording files will be emailed via Dropbox link one week after the recital date.

Cost and Time:

Musicians can play chamber or solo selections for up to 10, 20, or 30 minutes. Select the total time that you would like to play for. Please consult with your teacher prior to registration:

• $20 for 10 minutes
• $40 for 20 minutes
• $50 for 30 minutes

All registrations are final, no refunds. Send your registration fees by e-transfer to manitobastringsacademy@gmail.com.
